TekMao is a blend of festive music genres. First of all you’ve got the traditional Breton music, that can be heard in Festoù-Noz, where dance has a naturally dominant place. Then you mix it with Techno music, a style they discovered by attending the undeground party scene during their student years.

This mixture, the 3 boys have simply named it “Techno-Trad”. It has the power to gather people of all ages and all origins. It’s a sound that helps let off steam, and TekMao’s concerts are places where electro lovers as well as traditional music enthusiasts will find their account for sure.

TekMao’s influences are eclectic and rustic. Most of the themes and tunes of the band are composed, but many traditional themes are also incorporated and revisited. The sound of TekMao is recognizable thanks to the bagpipes and the bombard of course, but also thanks to their characteristic Techno beats evolving in unorthodox ways. We can also hear the jew’s harp and it’s ancectral trance enducing sound, as well as the harmonica, giving a tipically bluesy flavour to the tracks.
